Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be supporting a well-established organisation in Newport with the appointment of a Credit Controller to join their Head Office finance team.
A leading company in finance is seeking a Credit Controller to manage debt collection while maintaining positive and professional customer relationships. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive finance team, where you will play a key role in maintaining healthy cash flow and supporting the smooth running of the finance function.
The Role
This full-time, on-site position in Newport will involve managing the sales ledger, proactively chasing overdue invoices and reconciling customer accounts, while ensuring strong relationships are maintained with customers and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the sales ledger and monitoring outstanding balances
- Chasing overdue invoices via phone and email in a professional manner
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers
- Reconciling customer accounts and resolving discrepancies
- Allocating incoming payments accurately
- Producing aged debtor reports and highlighting potential risks
- Investigating and resolving account queries
- Supporting month-end finance procedures where required
- Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure efficient processes
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Credit Control role and be confident managing debtor accounts within a busy finance environment.
You will also demonstrate:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive approach to debt collection and account management
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Package & Benefits
- Full-time, office-based role in Newport
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (37.5 hours per week with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
