    Purchase Ledger Clerk – 18-Month Fixed Term Contract
    Location: Cardiff (Fully Office-Based)
    Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum (DOE)
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour lunch break)
    Start Date: End of October 2025


    Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading Wholesale business in Cardiff in their search for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team on a fixed term basis for 18 months. The successful candidate will be joining a friendly and supportive finance team based in Cardiff on an 18-month fixed-term contract to start at the end of October. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, collaborative environment and wants to contribute to a well-established and professional finance function.


    The Role

    Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll play an integral part in managing the purchase ledger, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments. You’ll be part of a close-knit team of five, working in a fully office-based setting.

    Your key responsibilities will include:

    • Processing a high volume of supplier invoices (up to 500 per week), including occasional high-value transactions.
    • Matching, batching, and coding invoices accurately.
    • Preparing and processing supplier payment runs.
    • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies promptly.
    • Handling queries from suppliers and internal departments in a professional and timely manner.
    • Assisting with month-end processes and reporting as required.
    • Supporting the team with ad-hoc finance administration tasks.

    You’ll bring enthusiasm, accuracy, and a methodical approach to your work, thriving in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is key.

    Essential skills and experience:

    • Previous experience within a purchase ledger or accounts payable role.
    • Confident processing high volumes of invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
    • Strong numerical and organisational skills.
    • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to resolving queries.
    • Basic Excel skills (data entry, sorting, and simple formulas).
